4-H is a youth development program organized through county extension offices, and its members are the exhibitors at the core of many New Jersey county fairs. Atlantic, Bergen, Cape May, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Morris and Somerset counties each hold a fair with 4-H in the name. At a 4-H fair, the judged classes, animal barns and project displays are the work of young people.
