Showmanship

A judged class that scores how well the handler presents an animal; conformation classes score the animal itself.

In a showmanship class the judge scores the exhibitor: grooming, control, ring position, how the handler moves the animal and answers questions. It is where 4-H members are graded on their own skill. Conformation or breed classes judge the animal itself.

Also known as: fitting and showing.
